Detroit Lions Concept Helmet

This helmet features an adaptation of the Lions primary logo used from 1961-1969. The stripe on the right was changed from silver to black and I chose to wrap the lion's tail around the backside of the blue stripe.

St. Louis Rams Concept Helmet

Let me first say that I think the Rams have an excellent helmet design. However, I much prefer the traditional blue and yellow colors they wore previous to the modern navy and gold. I decided to use their current alternate logo and retro-fit with the classic blue and yellow. The result is undoubtedly inferior to their actual blue and yellow version, but it's a nice look from an alternate design perspective.

Pittsburgh Steelers Concept Helmet

What is the biggest stylistic oversight in the NFL? It's the ommission of steel grey from the Steelers uniforms, particularly on their helmet. Here we have a steel grey shell with a partial (but larger) steel manufacturing starburst insignia. Yes, of course the logo is solely on the right side.

Arizona Cardinals Concept Helmet

The Arizona Cardinals began sporting a black alternate jersey during the 2010 season. However, their regular helmets didn't quite coordinate with the new threads. Here, I've gone with the classic wing design on a black background. Of course, this helmet design wouldn't match their regular uniforms very well. But I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the NFL unveils alternate helmets to go along with alternate jerseys.

Chicago Bears Concept Helmet

I'm not the biggest fan of stylized initials or a singular letter on the side of a helmet, which happens to be the case with the Chicago Bears. I decided to dress it up a bit by placing the bear atop the wishbone C. I opted for their alternate orange for no good reason other than to contrast the midnight blue bear.

New York Jets Concept Helmet

I'm not a big fan of the Jets so I didn't want to spend much time creating an alternate look for them. Unfortunately, I think the result is fairly nice. Their current helmet logo does not feature a jet, which is something else that bothers me. I much prefer the older (or newer?) helmet logo. So my idea was to use the retro white helmet and pair it with the logo they used from 1978-1997.

Philadelphia Eagles Concept Helmet

One of my favorite helmet designs over the years are the helmets worn by the Philadelphia Eagles between 1974 and 1995. This model is basically the same design with the colors rearranged. Although the wing itself is more like their current design, I decided to use the colors of old to accomplish the retro look. The grey helmet contrasts the green outline very well and the white wing gives it the desired pop effect.

Green Bay Packers Concept Helmet

One thing that has bugged me about Green Bay's helmet is the "G". Where is the "B"? Green Bay is two separate words and both initials should be present on their helmet. The Giants don't use a sole "N" on their helmets, right?

On this design I went with one of their older logos, obviously, then added the much needed "B". Being one of the older teams in the league, I felt the white helmet conveys more of a retro look than cheese yellow.

Washington Redskins Concept Helmet

Several years ago, I believe during the Steve Spurrier era, the Redskins wore some throwback style uniforms that were absolutely superb. It's a look they should really bring back. I do like their current uniforms, especially now with the yellow pants, but a new helmet would really set it off.

This concept helmet design is an adaption of the arrow they wore in the '60's and much like what they wore with Spurrier. In this design, I borrowed the feathers from the current logo and added them to the old logo.
